I was sitting at the Silver Snail on Young St. today and had a nice conversation with another photographer. As usual photographers discuss gear etc but we also discussed the merits of square format as he is working on a project using that aspect ratio. I have been shooting square format film for many years and recently scanned this image taken in 1997 at The Cloud Garden Park in Toronto. The park was relatively new to the city when I photographed it. I should go back some day with the same camera and see what’s new there. I like the way that this image has squares in it that slowly merge into the concrete walkway.
